Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Recently Followed website (recentlyfollowed.app). The Recent Follow mobile app has its own privacy policy, shown in the App Store and Google Play listings.

No account, no Instagram login

You don't create an account or sign in to Instagram to use this website. We never ask for your Instagram password.

What we process

• The username you look up. It is sent to our server so we can fetch that account's public Following list. Results are cached for up to an hour so repeat lookups are fast. We don't keep a record that links a lookup to you.
• Technical request data. Like any website, our hosting and security providers (Cloudflare, Vercel, Heroku) receive your IP address, browser type and the requested address, and keep short-lived logs to prevent abuse, enforce rate limits and fix errors.
• Bot check. Lookups are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which may set a cookie (cf_clearance) proving the browser passed the check.
• Usage statistics. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which features are used (for example, how many lookups succeed). Google Analytics sets cookies and processes your IP address; see Google's privacy policy for details.

What we don't do

• We don't sell personal information.
• We don't contact, notify or interact with the accounts you look up.
• We don't show advertising on this website.

The people you look up

We only use information that the looked-up account already shows publicly on Instagram, and the preview shows a limited number of results. If you'd like your account excluded from lookups, email us from an address we can verify against the account and we'll block it.
